Ms. Lewis would like to first familiarize you with the definition of EnDUCATE™.
First and foremost it is her position that, a child must feel good about one’s self and have a positive self-image to enjoy the best learning advantages. This is achievable when children are given choices in their environment for discovery and exploration. These opportunities should be provided to the child in a FUN and inviting manner or we will often defeat our purposes in our efforts to teach our children. Fun does not mean, play time without a plan or goal, but in fact, it means get their attention on their level and at their pace before you can begin to teach. The EnDUCATE™ process is the answer.
EnDUCATE™ Definition: To instruct, to lead, to train, or to guide, and to engage attention agreeably, while amusing with that which makes the time pass pleasantly, yet productively—as to educate a child, by means of a carefully planned and thoughtful integration of entertainment into the learning process and curriculum. It should include all of the domains of child development (i.e., Physical Health, Cognitive, Social & Emotional, Approaches to Learning, Motor and Language).
EnDUCATION Definition: The act, method, or process of educating with that which engages the attention agreeably—as to educate a child, by means of a carefully planned and thoughtful integration of entertainment. The end result of educating through the act, method or process of integrating entertainment with education, as determined by the knowledge skill, or discipline of character, acquired.
EnDUCATOR Definition: One who educates by means of a carefully planned and thoughtful integration of entertainment into an education curriculum.
